It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be far more fun…and not as stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years back that’s probably cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, because of lost business from bad PR.
We’ll be sharing some cases of these beside you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our customers — and feel that now they’re a safe and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before opting to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to make a lot of people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of unethical behaviour, ranging from telling likes to withholding cash to having shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we could show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they lied about what system it was around. They claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about how they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked away.
Afterwards reports (in BetOnline) indicated that things were nice and fixed, and that BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie too if we had been on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a bad approach to advertise a new item. It doesn’t instill confidence. And it makes you wonder: why do they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from clients. The reasoning was nearly always because the client allegedly cheated, although no proof was provided from BetOnline (from the cases we have read).
1 example that caught our eye was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him all his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him jobless (for proof).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about the way they were on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories because the files were too big.
(Anybody who knows anything regarding internet poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files into your computer — understands what a crock that is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated if you do not have anything to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the participant get his cash back. His last update mentions being relieved about how it worked out for him, but also said the same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped into his friend. But here’s the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table where nobody else could be hurt. He did it so his friend might have an extra $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The funny part is they were playing from the exact same house at the time. Most sites would not even let two people from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the same table — but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most sites would have caught it much sooner), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is the way they wanted to also take his $37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that most legit websites would not have allowed two people from the exact same IP to sit at precisely the exact same table. And, if they did, the moment they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the player’s account would come under review. He’d not have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now that he did, BetOnline desired it. Buttechnically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (that wasn’t any one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline thinks they need to be able to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we want to talk about is a case in which a BetOnline rep outed the way the employees understood their customer’s passwords and login amounts. You can see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a fantastic point. If everyone in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into account and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a fantastic answer, just a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’ll see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is how these examples are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer variety of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you busy.
Subsequently BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the exact same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were struggling to pay their customers.
Thent a couple of months after a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the acquisition, it was the fact that BetOnline also agreed to be on the hook for all of the current and past payouts. Even after all their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is committed for SportsBetting.ag winners paid at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “But since there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be run through different fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. Once the backlog is complete, clients will experience drastically enhanced payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, including same day options.”
No one knows exactly how much BetOnline needed to make in previous payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find more than $1.5 million in obligations that was not reported from the prior direction. So I think it would be safe to assume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we’ve had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the past year or so.
There are a few complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we’ll address in the future in our inspection once it is logical. Nonetheless, it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They even have satisfied customers, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what does that mean to you? In the event you forgive and forget? Are they safe enough for you to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 when we’d heard or known about any of those reports previously. Nobody in their right mind could. You would be safer light your cash on fire.
And we also don’t wish to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be dismissed.
But as buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to oversee operations, things have improved radically. So much so we’re comfortable today recommending them to our readers.
And it’s not just us. When you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, then you’ll see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing with there, simply to have a change of heart once they saw how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review below.
However, as best as we could tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they currently offer players. So we feel secure having accounts here.
It is up to you to decide if you are feeling the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous out of the way, let’s jump into what is important now — and that is what BetOnline offers concerning banking, gambling options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid selection of banking choices. However, you’ll want to remember that what’s available to you will probably be determined by your geographical area.
Let’s begin with their deposit options.

The largest complaint about deposits would be their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They are one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s one of the additional kinds, charging 4.9 percent.
Cash Outs
When you are ready to cash out your winnings, then you can utilize:

What I don’t like is how you’ll pay a commission for every banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is usually free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% commission.
That said, I’ve seen firsthand reports from clients who say they have received payments over 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they are in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their website, but I have seen reports which indicate BetOnline provides you a $50 credit every month if you place in your request on a Friday. In many cases this won’t cover the entire fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. This means you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest standing, and probably most popular solution, is that their sportsbook. So let us begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline offers action on horses, sports and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most popular sports in america. Included in these are:
Auto racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also wager on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football 1 option they have added lately is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how fast that industry is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the biggest leagues and tournaments.
BetOnline is, too, even though it appears as though they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they only have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ matches across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That being said, I think it’s a good idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still trying to find their bearings in this growing marketplace. Perhaps they have plans to enlarge their eSports choices in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their odds on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing to the exact same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s always going to be the case, nor will it matter if they never enlarge this part of the sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on these.
They offer live betting also. These options vary constantly, of course, to coincide with what events or games are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for football, tennis and baseball. You can even keep track of a few of games concurrently utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
One thing they are known for are the higher-than-average betting limits. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. You can also increase your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair number of promotions, and much more than you will find in their own racebook and financials segment combined. Some of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — make a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a list of races in their webpage. Each record tells you the number of open races there are, which when you click it is going to expand to reveal the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you are unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a fantastic section to look through is that their racebook information tab within their own navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limits. This tells you the max you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you will make in case your bet(s) win.Their rules and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t understand what a word or phrase means).
It is a fantastic section if you are new to horse betting.
And that’s about it. This section is far more compact than their sportsbook.
That said, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the quality or quantity that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can make. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the first time in the racebook. If you shed BetOnline will reimburse you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets you can bet on will depend on your wager type.
This section looks like an afterthought. It certainly will not get the focus or advertising BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is one of the most well-known alternatives for Americans. They’re part of the Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in overall traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker sites. When I last checked they had about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software update. Previously they had several complaints regarding the standard of their software. This included complaints regarding fuzzy graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But after their update we’ve seen suggestions they might have a few of the greatest software in america market.
From worst to best at 1 upgrade? That might be pushing it. But in line with the images I’ve seen, their software DOES look much better.
But, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have some choices for cellular players, which we think is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game choices.
In general, though, it is nice to see they are making advancements and are becoming more competitive with what other high tier US poker sites offer.
Speaking of which, some of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They cover this out to you $5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clean the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re running a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises more than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and money race challenges, also.
Plus it is not exactly a”bonus,” but the games here should be milder because of the US traffic along with the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be easier here in contrast to other poker (just ) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find lots of game choices which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft software, both of which are famous for producing topnotch games. Here’s how their games breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for actual cash accounts only)
One thing to find here are the accounts I have seen about the way BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
One example came from a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I have heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I anticipated them to shine at customer services. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, through their live chat service (and that I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life up to now.
After the live chat session started, I needed to wait a few minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not just entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username to a live chat box? I sure did not.
I explained that I do not wish to enter that information to a chat area and, more importantly, the question demands no such information since it was about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait ten more minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely here), while receiving”Thank you for waiting. I’ll be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline states they provide excellent customer services. He also says that your very best bet is to take advantage of the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This suggests to us that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
